Giving evidence in the court, PC Marsden said he approached the accused with the intention of saving the suspect from the mob and to arrest him out where he would have a radio signal.

He said that he placed his hand on the left arm of Amaz, but said he “met with immediate resistance” and he felt that the suspected “his fist”.
