Patna, November 8 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched a scathing attack on RJD and Congress, saying the bumper voting in the first phase of Bihar assembly elections has given them a shock of 65 volts.

Addressing a rally in Sitamarhi, the Prime Minister said there is widespread discussion that the youth and women of Bihar have voted decisively for development and the NDA.

PM Modi said, “In the first phase of voting, the supporters of Jungle Raj have got a shock of 65 volts. The youth of Bihar have chosen development, they have chosen the NDA. The sisters and daughters of Bihar have also ensured a record victory for the NDA.”

PM Modi alleged that RJD’s campaign messages reveal their mentality.

“Just listen to the songs and slogans of these supporters of Jungle Raj. On the platform of RJD, innocent children are being told that they want to become gangsters. Should the children of Bihar become gangsters or doctors?” PM Modi asked.

He said the NDA is providing books, computers, sports equipment and opportunities in education and start-ups – not guns.

“Jungle Raj means guns, cruelty, bitterness, bad behavior and corruption,” PM Modi said. He said leaders like Karpoori Thakur and Bhola Paswan Shastri had envisioned social justice and development, but that era was derailed during RJD’s tenure.

He said, “On one hand the NDA government is developing our pilgrimage sites. On the other hand, Congress and RJD people are insulting our faith. You must have heard what the Congress leader said about Chhathi Maiya.”

“Chhath Mahaparva is a glorious festival representing the devotion and penance of the mothers and sisters of Bihar. And Congress leaders say that this Chhath Mahaparva is just a drama, a farce. It is an insult to our mothers and sisters, to Chhath Maiya, to our traditions, heritage and culture.”

PM Modi said, “Those who commit such insults should be punished. The best way to punish these people is your vote. Vote in favor of NDA candidates and defeat them.”

He accused the RJD-Congress alliance of destroying the industrial ecosystem.

He said, “They don’t even know the ABC of industries. Not a single big factory was set up in 15 years. Even the sugar mills in Mithilanchal region were closed. No big hospital or medical college was opened.”

PM Modi said the NDA era has reversed that trend – claiming better roads, better rail and air connectivity, new power projects and revived manufacturing.

He cited the reopening of the Riga Sugar Mill and said that more such industries would emerge with greater strength in the coming years.

He said the Center is promoting ethanol production to support sugarcane farmers.

He said, “Keeping in mind the interests of sugarcane farmers, our government is also promoting the production of ethanol from sugarcane. BJP and NDA deliver what they promise. And Modi’s guarantee means promise is guaranteed to be fulfilled. As soon as the NDA government is formed again in Bihar, we will further strengthen this pace of development.”

Referring to Sita and Ayodhya, PM Modi linked development to heritage.

He said, “Today I have come to this holy land of Mata Sita to seek your blessings. Only with the blessings of Mata Sita, Bihar will become a developed state. This election will decide what will be the future of the children of Bihar.”

He said that he had prayed on this earth and mentioned the Supreme Court’s decision on Ayodhya.

He said, “When prayers are offered to Mother Sita’s land, does she never remain unanswered? That’s exactly what happened – the Supreme Court ruled in favor of Ram Lalla.”

PM Modi also highlighted the connectivity initiatives under the Ramayana Circuit.

“Direct rail service from Sitamarhi to Ayodhya is part of this plan. Your son-in-law is none other than Lord Ram himself. A grand temple of Sitamarhi’s son-in-law has been built in Ayodhya. Now it is the turn of Mata Sita’s maternal house. The grandeur of Punaura Dham will now be seen by the whole world.”
