Hyderabad, 7 October (IANS) Congress leader Naveen Yadav, who is seen as a front-colon for the party ticket for the by-election for the Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency in Telangana, was booked by the police on Tuesday for “violations” for the Election Commission of India.
On the complaint of an election officer, a case was registered against him for distributing voter ID cards and allegedly impressing voters.
Election Registration Officer G. A case has been registered at Madhur Nagar Police Station on the complaint of Rajinikanth Reddy.
After a local Telugu Daily, the action was made a report with photographs about a program in Madhu Nagar, where Naveen Yadav distributed voter ID cards.
The case has been booked under sections 170, 171 and 174 of the Indian Judge (BNS) and sections 123 (1) and 123 (2), which relates to corrupt practices.
Naveen Yadav is one of the three candidates shortlisted by the Congress party. His name is likely to be cleared by the party’s central leadership.
Action against Naveen Yadav took place a day later when the Election Commission of India announced that the by -election would be held on 11 November.
The Model Code Code of Conduct came into force on Monday with the announcement of a by-election schedule in Hyderabad district.

The official notification for the by -election will be released on 13 October, while the last date for filing nomination is 21 October. The nomination will be held on 22 October, and permission to withdraw the candidature will be permission by 24 October.
The votes will be counted on 14 November, and the election process will be completed by 16 November, 2025.
BRS has declared Gopinath’s wife, Maganti Sunita as her candidate. The Congress and BJP have not yet announced their candidates.
