JSW MG Motor India hopes that EVs will be accounting up to 65 pcs of total sales

New Delhi, April 11 (PTI) JSW MG Motor India said on Friday that it expects up to 65 percent of the total sales coming from electric vehicles by the end of this year.

The company, whose all-electric crossover utility vehicle Windsar has crossed the 20,000 units of cumulative sales milestones in six months, took 50 percent of its sales from EVS in 2024.

It sold a total of 60,000 vehicles in 2024. Currently, JSW Mg Motor India sells three EV models – Zs, Comets and Windsor – and three internal combustion engines (ice) vehicles – hectares, Estore and Gloster sells.

“EVS is forming more than 60 percent sales in CY25 in the sales of our mother (month-by-month). We will pursue this pace throughout the year and are convinced that our EVS will run by the end of our total sales by 60-65 percent of the year,” said Rakesh Sen, Director of JSW MG Motor India.

JSW Mg Motor India is expanding its new energy vehicle portfolio with Mg Cyberester and MG M9, which will be retailed through its new ‘Sulabh luxury’ channel MG select.

The good traction that Windsor has seen, said that the “extraordinary value proposal” of the model has been obtained very well by customers.

He said, “In addition, with MG Windsor, we have successfully addressed the category obstacles and through our innovative approach, spread many myths around EVS in India,” he said.

Sen said Windsor has become the fastest EV model to achieve 20,000 sales cumulative milestones.

The company launched Windser in September last year and introduced a ownership plan through the offering of Battery-e-Saravis (BAAS) and claimed that the model was owned at a price equal to a manual engine-based compact SUV.
