Jaipur, 6 October (IANS) BJP National President and Union Health Minister JP Nadda expressed deep grief over tragic fire at the Trauma Center of Sawai Man Singh Hospital in Jaipur on Monday, claiming more than 6 people and injured. Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi also said to the incident heartily and demanded accountability.
BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda expressed deep grief over the incident, which called the loss of life “very heartbreaking”.
Taking it on social media, Nadda said, “There are reports of many patients killed in the fire at the trauma center of Sawai Man Singh Hospital in Jaipur. I spoke with the Chief Minister of the state Bhajan Lal Sharma and inquired about the ongoing health facilities and relief efforts.”
He said, “I express my deep condolences to the bereaved families.
Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi also shocked the incident and expressed grief and concern over the incident in Rajasthan and demanded accountability.
In a statement posted on X, he wrote, “The news of painful deaths of many patients is very heartily due to a fire at the trauma center of a government hospital in Jaipur.
“God can provide peace to the departed souls. My deep condolences to the bereaved families. I pray for early recovery of the injured.”
Priyanka Gandhi also called upon the Rajasthan government to take strong and transparent action: “I appeal to the state government to provide proper compensation to the families affected by the state government, to conduct a rapid investigation into the incident and take strict action so that such a tragedy is not repeated.”
The tragic incident has inspired better call safety protocols and comprehensive calls for accountability in public healthcare institutions.
A high -level committee has been formed to investigate fire at the Trauma Center and Orthopedic Institute’s Neurosurgery ICU -1 at SMS Hospital in Jaipur, Rajasthan, claiming six people.
The six -member panel will be chaired by Iqbal Khan, Commissioner, Department of Medical Education.
The committee will investigate the cause of the fire, assess the security of the hospital and emergency protocols, and recommend corrective measures to prevent such incidents in the future. The committee has been directed to submit a detailed report as soon as possible.
Earlier in the day, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma expressed deep condolences on the tragic fire that provoked late Sunday night.
The fire caused by an electrical short circuit caused many seriously sick patients’ life and loss of injuries.
