Officials said Jammu, 22 September (IANS) joint forces launched an anti-terrorism campaign in Kathua district of Jammu-Katha on Monday, when two suspected militants were seen in a local village, the officials said.
Officials said that the joint forces started the operation in Malhar area of Kathua after suspected militants were seen in Dragel village.
An official said, “Army, Jammu -Kashmir Police and CRPF are operating a Casso (Cordon and Search Operation) in the area to locate suspected terrorists. The operation was started after the input about the two armed terrorists’ movement,” an official said.
Combined forces are combing the forest area in Malhar, including sniffer dogs, monitoring equipment, drones, etc.
Officials said that after successfully sealed all the exit points were searched in several villages adjacent to the Dragel village.
“Local people have been advised to stay indoors and report any suspected agitation to joint forces as the security of the security forces in the area is the highest priority of the security forces,” said an official.
Joint forces are offering aggressive operations against terrorists, their overground workers (OGWS) and sympathizers in UT.
Drug smugglers and pedals are also on the radar of the security forces, as it is believed by intelligence agencies that it is believed that the money generated by the hawala money racket and drug smuggling is eventually used to maintain terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
The revised strategy of joint forces is to destroy the entire ecosystem of terror rather than the elimination of gun -run terrorists.
While the Army J&K is cautious in the 740-KM long control (LOC) guards and the Border Security Force (BSF) 240-km long international border (IB), working with terrorism in police and paramilitary forces.
The LOC Valley runs in Kupwara and Bandipora districts and in parts of Jammu district in Poonch, Rajouri and Jammu Division.
The IB is located in the Samba districts of Jammu, Katua and Jammu Division.
