Former U.S. Senator and Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Lieberman died in New York on Wednesday at the age of 82.
His family confirmed he died from complications from a fall.

Lieberman’s political career has notable milestones, including becoming the Democratic vice presidential candidate in the 2000 election.

Lieberman’s funeral is scheduled for Friday in his hometown of Stamford, Connecticut.
