J&K police launched a rift on banned literature after administrator for 25 books

Srinagar, Aug 7 (KDC): The Jammu and Kashmir administration issued an order after the administration allegedly seized 25 books to promote solitude, fanaticism and glorify terrorism, police on Thursday started coordinated operations in South and North Kashmir, targeting a book shop to curb the prevalence of restricted literature.

Kulgam, Zainpora (Shopian), and discovered at Sopore in Baramulla district, police teams inspected several bookshops and issued strict warnings against stock or distributing the prostitute materials.

In an official statement to Kashmir.com, the Kulgam police said the operation was legally monitored and professional. Bookshop owners were strictly cautioned about the consequences of violating the government’s instructions and directed to strictly follow the relevant legal provisions.

In Sopore, under the jurisdiction of Sopore Police District (PD), the police also started a thorough investigation on the local bookshop, ensuring that no restricted publication was in vogue.

Police of the three districts said that such drives would continue, and any attempt to promote or keep banned literature will invite strict legal action. Citizens were urged to report suspicious materials or activities.

The enforcement follows the statutory order number 203 issued by the J&K government on 6 August, which is considered to be India’s sovereign and harmful to India’s sovereign and integrity, which allows the state to seize the state.

According to the order, the banned books “promote complaints, the victims and terrorist valor culture,” and “contribute to distorting historical facts, glorifying terrorism, enhancing security forces and promoting separatist ideologies.” The government cited Sections 152, 196 and 197 of BNS, which to endanger sovereignty, promote enmity and deal with acts that provoke violence.

The administration stressed that the action is part of a broad crack on radical materials in print and its objective is to curb ideological sabotage among the youth in the union region. Further review of educational, educational and political literature is allegedly going on.
