Jammu, August 14: Jammu and Kashmir Police has been awarded 127 valor medals on the occasion of Independence Day 2025, which is the highest number among all police forces in the country.
The announcement was made as part of the list of medal award winners in the Union Home Ministry police, fire, home guards, civil defense and correctional services.
These awards recognize acts of bravery, reputed service and meritorious contribution by police personnel in states and center areas.
Along with the honor of valor, Jammu and Kashmir Police also received 14 police medals for the prestigious service (PSM) and 14 police medals for meritorious service (MSM).
The impressive Tally highlights the continuous role of the J&K police in counter-desire operations, internal security management, and maintaining law and order in one of the most sensitive areas of the country.
127 valor medals provided to J&K personnel, such as CRPF (20 medals), Chhattisgarh Police (14), Uttar Pradesh Police (17), and Odisha Police (9) are awarded medals. This outlines the extraordinary operational challenges and exemplary bravery displayed by the J&K police in front of adversity.
