Officials said Srinagar, 6 October (IANS) Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday attached the property of a drug pedal under the prevention of illegal traffic in Kulgam district under the drugs and psychotropic substances (pit NDP) Act.
A police statement said, “Continuing its unbreakable drive against drug menus, the Kulgam Police has attached the property of another notorious drug pedalor under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act.”
The statement said, “During the investigation of an FIR under the 21 NDPS Act of Kajigund police station, it was revealed that the accused of Kurigam, Czech Badwani, Kajigund tehsil, have been involved in many cases of drug trafficking and had no valid sources of income,” said in the statement.
“The accused is currently registered in Bhadarwah District Jail. Investigation further revealed that the accused illegally acquired a residential house falling under survey number 797 minutes, which was worth around Rs 25 lakh, which was from drug smuggling income.”
“While working fast, the Kajigund police station initiated proceedings under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, which led to the attachment of the said property. This action has so far taken another determined step in its mission by the Kulgam police to erase the danger of the drug from the district and strike on the roots of illegal narrow narcissism.”
The statement said that the people of the area have appreciated the efforts of the Kulgam police.
“Repeating the commitment to free the district from drugs, Senior Superintendent of Police of Kulgam Sahil Sarangi said that Kulgam will continue its continuous action against the police drug pedals and people involved in illegal drug trade. The purpose of such measures is not only to curb the supply chain, but also to eliminate the financial backbones of these networks.”
