Anantnag, August 13: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today attended the trophy unveiling ceremony of Bijbara Premier League (BPL) in Anantnag.
The Lieutenant Governor interacted with the players and officials and congratulated the organizers of the Bijbara Premier League.
Lieutenant Governor said, “Bijbehara Premier League is widely considered the most prestigious cricket tournament in J&K UT, which also works as a platform to demonstrate talent and earn its place at national and international level.”
The Lieutenant Governor noticed that Bijbehara Premier League is more than an ambitious competition for Anantnag and his neighboring districts. He said that this tournament has made a major contribution to improve the quality of sports throughout Jammu and Kashmir.
The Lieutenant Governor highlighted that under the guidance of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Jammu and Kashmir has made its right place in the Indian sports scenario.
Lieutenant Governor said, “In the last five years, we have focused on strong strategy and effective execution at the level of grass roots to create modern sports infrastructure, cultivate suitable environment for players and promote sports culture.”
The Lieutenant Governor said that notable progress in the sports area of Jammu and Kashmir is due to the hard work and unwavering determination of the tireless efforts of our players, dedicated coaches and the sports council officials.
“Since 2020, J&K UT adopted a player-centric view to develop players and maximize their capacity. It has also been ensured that children and youth are provided enough opportunities to participate in sports activities. This broader access reflects our commitment to inclusive sports development throughout the union region,” he said.
The Lieutenant Governor appreciated the Bijbehar Premier League for his emergence as a powerful drug movement of drugs, successfully chanted the youth’s energy to the game.
The Lieutenant Governor also congratulated the people of Anantnag and South Kashmir for the success of Shri Amarnathji Yatra.
