Srinagar, May 09: In an important development, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has approved the height and appointment of two senior officials in the Water Power Department.
At his height, Mohammed. Taj Chaudhary has been appointed as Chief Engineer, Jal Shakti (PHE) Kashmir, while Tirath Ram has been appointed as Chief Engineer, Irrigation and Flood Control, Kashmir.
These appointments have been made in view of extraordinary circumstances arising from important vacancies and lack of senior officials at the top level in the department.
The establishment-cum-selection committee had fully discussed and recommended these heights, underlining the government’s commitment to fill important positions.
Meanwhile, Water Power Minister Javed Ahmed Rana ordered the height of five executive engineers to Superintendent Engineers, effectively to fill all the vacancies at the Superintending Engineer level in the department.
The move is expected to increase the implementation of important water supply projects in Jammu and Kashmir.
The active intervention of Minister Rana has already started to change the human resource scenario in the Water Power Department.
To ensure efficient project distribution, the minister has directed regular monitoring and evaluation of the performance of top level officials, informed by a spokesman of the ministry.
These appointments and height show the government’s commitment to strengthen the Department of Water Power and improve the distribution of essential services to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
