Jammu and Anti -Kashmir Bureau of Corruption Bureau registered a case against an officer posted in the office of Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, which is in proportion to the property for known sources of income.
According to a statement, the news agency -Kashmir News Observer (KNO) was issued, a prudent verification done by the bureau in financial transactions and asset holdings revealed that public servant Imtiaz Ahmed Bhat had assumed the property for his known and legitimate sources.
“The property, identified during verification, includes a residential house in Firdaabad, Batamalu, built on the land measuring 11 Marlus, an additional structure with land measuring 6.5 Marlus, 10 Marlus and 13 Marlus to measure 13 Marlus, and 13 Marlus, and 13 Marlus, and 13 Marlus,”
It reads that verification has also been brought to light on their children’s adequate expenditure on higher education.
“Investigations of various bank accounts revealed many suspected transactions and unexplained cash deposits. Imtiaz and his family members found operating several bank lockers in Jammu and Kashmir Bank, and they were in possession of many immovable properties of considerable value. The public servant was also found to maintain a lifestyle, which is with their declared income.”
It reads that a formal case affecting FIR number 09/2025 has been registered against Imtiaz Ahmed Bhat at Police Station Anti-Corruption Bureau, Srinagar, read with section 13 (2) for criminal misconduct under Section 13 (1) (B).
“After registration of the FIR, search warrants were obtained from the competent court and the search operations were conducted simultaneously in the residential and other premises of the accused. The ACB teams were discovered in the presence of executive magistrates and facilitated by local police and other agencies”, it reads.
It further reads that during these discoveries, documents and evidence related to both popular and immovable assets were increased, while further investigation is going on- (KNO)
