American TV star jimmy fallon Treated to some Highlands hospitality during our holiday at Royal Deeside.
The actor was visiting the grounds of Balmoral Castle this week when a soldier recognized him and invited him to his barracks.
The king’s royal guards were invited whenever the opportunity arose. The Tonight ShowHosted for dinner in his officers’ mess in Ballater, Aberdeenshire.
Fallen welcomed with kilt and bagpipes by soldiers of the 5th Battalion, Royal Regiment scotland (5Scots) and signed the visitor’s book at Victoria Barracks in the village – a long-standing tradition for honored guests.
The evening began with a formal welcome to the camp by the Commanding Officer, Second in Command and the Company Sergeant Major.
He then saw a small ceremonial guard of soldiers practicing for the king’s departure.

Fallon was shown some of the equipment used by the troops before the formal dinner, where he was served the traditional Scottish starter – a venison Scotch egg instead of the usual sausages.
He also heard a short talk by Lieutenant Samoilis on the regimental colours.
Major Thomas Blair, Commanding Officer of 5Scots, said: “What started as a casual meeting near Balmoral turned into a wonderful evening.
“It’s not every day you meet a Hollywood A-lister, and we were delighted to welcome her to Scotland – in true Scots style.”
Photographs taken by the regiment show a quilted Fallon sitting around the dining table in the officers’ mess, as well as his signature in the visitor’s book.

When the King arrived for his summer residence earlier in the year, an infantry company welcomed him to Balmoral.
Fallon became famous as a performer on the comedy sketch series Saturday Night Live before becoming a late-night talk show host.
Lorne Michaels, creator of Saturday Night Live, hopes to bring a version of the show to Sky in the UK.
Fallon recently gave some advice to up-and-coming comedians who may want to star in a UK show.
He told Deadline: “Don’t think about the next step, or whether you’re going to become a movie star from this.
“Don’t treat it as a launching pad, treat it as the end game.”
