Schlossberg said his family has been extremely supportive of his cancer treatment.
“My parents and also my brother and sister have been parenting and sitting in my various hospital rooms almost every day for the last one and a half years,” he said.
“Even when I suffered, he held my hand fearlessly, not trying to show his pain and suffering to protect me from it. This has been a great gift, even though I feel his pain every day.”
