Jejbi Shopian Harawan inspects the Juvenile Observation Home in Srinagar

Srinagar, August 08, KDC: In an active initiative to ensure compliance with adolescent protection standards, Under the leadership of the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) shopkeeper, under the leadership of the Chief Magistrate, Bajila Bashir today inspected the Kishore Overview Home (Joh) in Harvan, Srinagar.

The inspection team consisted of Musharf (Member, JJB Shopian), Rafi Ahmed Gani (Chief Legal Assistance Defense Advocate, Shopian) and Sumaira Imtiaz (Legal Co -Probation Officer).

The journey was organized under the mandate of Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection Care) Act, 2015, which focuses on the security of adolescent girls in conflict with law.

The Superintendent of the observation Home provided a detailed visit to all residential, educational, entertaining and medical facilities. The team assessed the stay, hygiene standards, infrastructure and security protocols.

Principal Magistrate and team members had a clear conversation with the residents to understand their treatment, rehabilitation progress and access to legal, educational and health services.

The visiting team verified the legal and administrative records of all adolescent girls, which aims to ensure to follow statutory processes including timely production before JJB and legal aid provisions.

“Our surprising journey underscores the ZJB’s zero-optimity approach to negligence in adolescent care. We are committed to ensure that every child here receives dignity, protection and rehabilitation support as vested in the law. The standards received any deviation with strict corrective action,” said the principal magistrate. (KDC)
