JEFF TIMMER’S SON PASSES AWAY
A devastating statement posted by The Lincoln Project has revealed that Jeff Timmer’s teenage son has died.
Mekbul Timmer was a high school student and was the political activist’s youngest child, the Twitter post revealed.
“We are devastated by the tragic death of our youngest child. Mekbul Timmer was a high school senior loved and admired by everyone who knew him,” his parents wrote.
“Please just love your kids and those close to you,” they continued.
Hours later, Jeff’s wife Mattie then wrote: “The outpouring of love and sympathy we have received are giving us the moments of grace we need to navigate this unspeakable grief.”
“To everyone who has reached out to us in any small way, we thank you. @jefftimmer,” she added.

Just hours after the statement was shared, Jeff took to his own Twitter page to post about his grief.

Many people have been paying tribute to Mekbul in the comments, with one person close to him writing:
“You, @MattieTimmer and your entire family have been and will continue to be in my thoughts. Please let me know if you need anything…I deliver a mean cup of coffee and take special requests for meals. Sending you all of the love and support.”
“A grief therapist helped me immeasurably after my son’s death. I hope you get some tools and relief,” said another.
A third person added: “I’m so sorry Jeff. My heart breaks for you and your boy.”
