Rajouri, May 17: After recent enmity, Javed Ahmed Rana, Minister of Water Power, Forest, Ecology and Environment, and Tribal Affairs, today visited Rajouri to assess the situation and relief measures.
The minister, first, chaired a meeting with district officials and elected representatives to review the development initiatives implemented in the district.
During the meeting, Javed Rana emphasized that ensuring safety and safety of border residents is one of the top priorities of the government. He directed the authorities to accelerate the identity and construction of community bunkers.
The minister directed the concerned departments to ensure timely disbursement between the affected families. He emphasized the importance of ground level evaluation for the development of strategic infrastructure in weak areas.
Apart from MLAs of Rajouri and Budhal constituencies, DDC Chairperson raised several major issues including lack of employees in the Health Department.
The minister assured him of timely resolution of his issues and concerns, reiterating the government’s commitment to fulfill public aspirations and prioritize the needs of public representatives. He informed about various measures being taken to improve socio-economic conditions, ensuring the education and healthcare of the disadvantaged people, ensuring that the benefits of development reach them.
The deputy commissioner said that to identify the land-wise teams, in view of the vulnerability of the border areas for firing from across the border and to ensure safety of citizens living in cities near the Line of Control, the formation of ward-wise teams has been formed to identify the land suitable for the construction of community bunkers/underground shelters under the aegis of the municipal committees concerned.
He also informed that community trenches are also being dug out in border areas under MGNREGA.
