Election strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraj Party has released its first list of candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. The party released the names of 51 candidates but Kishor’s name was missing.

Party’s national president Uday Singh made this announcement during a press conference held at Sheikhpura House in Patna.

Prominent candidates for the Bihar assembly elections include Dirgh Narayan Prasad from Valmikinagar, Kunal Nishad from Pranpur in Katihar, Rampravesh Kumar Yadav from Nirmali in Supaul, Usha Kiran. from Surasand, and Sunil Kumar from Loria, among others.

Kishor is likely to start his election campaign from Raghopur, the constituency of RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, on October 11. Singh said, “We will soon release a list of candidates for other seats. If you find Kishore ji’s name in the list, he will contest the elections. This is absolutely clear. Kishore ji will launch the party’s election campaign from Raghopur on October 11.”

During an interview last month, Kishor had hinted that he may also contest the upcoming elections. He said, “Discussions are going on in the party, and if a collective decision is taken that I will also contest, then, as I said in that interview also, it should be Karghar or Raghopur.”

During the interview, he said that Karghar, which falls under Sasaram Lok Sabha seat in Rohtas district, is his “birthland” and Raghopur is “my ‘karmabhoomi’ just like the rest of Bihar.”

Bihar assembly elections
