“Jammu and Kashmir will be cloudy with rain for the next 2 days”: Mate

Srinagar, 09 July: Met Center Srinagar today released weather forecasts for Jammu and Kashmir, indicating rain and thunder at several places across the region. Currently, rain/thunder are being experienced at many places in J&K.

According to the forecast, the next two days, July 9-10, typically cloudy with intermittent light for moderate rains/Thundered at many places.

There is a possibility of intense rainfall/torrential rains at some places in Kashmir and Jammu Divisions, heavy rains are expected at different places in Jammu Division.

The weather is expected to change from 11–13 July, with warm and humid conditions prevalent, as well as scattered light rain/thundered.

From July 14-16, another mantra of light is expected to be at several places with moderate rain/thunder at many places from July 14-16.

In the light of the forecast, an advisor has been issued a probable rapid rainfall warning at some places in Jammu and Kashmir, which is expected to have heavy rains at different places in the Jammu division. There is also a risk of flash floods at weak places, landslides/Madslides and shooting stones during July 9-10.

Additionally, water levels are expected to increase in rivers, streams and local drains, in which water logging is possible in low-to-death areas. During this period, farmers are advised to suspend irrigation and other agricultural operations.
