Jammu, Nov 20 (IANS) Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday attached the property of a drug smuggler in Narwal area of Jammu city under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Police in South Zone area of Jammu city have attached assets worth Rs 15 lakh of drug smuggler, Vishal Kumar of Narwal, Jammu, an official statement said.
“In a major action under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, Jammu Police, South Zone has attached/seized the movable property of Vishal Kumar, i.e., Scorpio S 11, Registration No. JK 08 G 3535, valued at approximately Rs 15 lakh, under Section 68 (F) of the NDPS Act. Accused Vishal Kumar, son of Ram Singh, Boot Polish Mohalla, Rajiv Nagar, A resident of Narwal district Jammu, registered in the FIR number 295/2025 under section 8/21/22/25/27A/29 NDPS Act and 111 BNS, Police Station Bahu Fort.
The action of attachment of the property was taken by the Investigating Officer, Incharge Police Post Narwal as per the provisions of the NDPS Act. The attachment order was issued as part of the proceedings under the said Act.
“The entire operation has been conducted under the supervision of SSP Jammu and under the direct guidance of SP City South, SDPO City East and SHO PS Bahu Fort. Jammu Police reiterates its strong commitment to eliminate the menace of drugs from the society and will continue to take strict action against the criminals under the law,” the police statement said.
Jammu and Kashmir Police and security forces are carrying out aggressive counter-terrorism operations against terrorists, their overground workers (OGWs), supporters, drug smugglers and people involved in hawala money racket and other illegal financial activities.
This is part of the security forces’ revised strategy to eliminate the entire ecosystem of terror instead of focusing only on eliminating gun-toting terrorists.
Security forces believe that the money generated from drug trafficking, hawala money and other financial rackets is ultimately used to sustain terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
