Jamie Carragher has highlighted Arsenal’s success this season as a reason why Antonio Conte’s arguments at Tottenham Hotspur are wrong.

It’s just another weekend in the life of a Tottenham fan.

3-1 up and seemingly heading towards victory at Southampton on Saturday afternoon, Spurs managed to throw it all away.

James Ward Prowse’s late penalty rescued a point for the struggling Saints and left Conte absolutely furious.

The Tottenham boss questioned the desire, commitment and fight of his Tottenham players whilst branding them ‘selfish’.

Conte highlighted that the club haven’t won anything for many, many years and seemingly pointed the finger of blame at the players.

This isn’t doing anything to end the theory that Conte will be leaving Tottenham this summer and his rant has been questioned.

Jamie Carragher questions Antonio Conte’s Tottenham tirade

Pundit Jamie Carragher highlighted on Twitter that Conte shouldn’t be talking about Tottenham in such a derogatory way – especially when they gave him a very nice contract.

Carragher also argued that Arsenal have killed a lot of Conte’s arguments with their improvement this season.

Tottenham finished above Arsenal at the end of last season, securing Champions League football in the process.

Yet Tottenham are now watching Arsenal sitting five points clear at the top of the Premier League table, 17 points clear of Spurs.

Carragher clearly believes that Arsenal are changing their narrative of recent years and thinks Conte should be in a position to do similar at Tottenham.

Conte has slammed his Tottenham players but many of them are the same ones who took Spurs above Arsenal less than a year ago.

Conte just hasn’t progressed Tottenham like Mikel Arteta has at Arsenal and the Italian’s season hasn’t been good enough.

Yes, Spurs are fourth, but the football has been poor to watch and crashing out of cup competitions to Nottingham Forest, Sheffield United and AC Milan hasn’t appeased fans.

Arteta has improved players and brought a superb style of play whereas Conte seems to continually hint at wanting to leave Tottenham and then sounds surprised when his players don’t seem 100% bought-in.

Conte haș endured a very difficult season away from football and maybe it’s best for everyone to go their separate ways this summer.
