Jaishankar meets German Chancellor Frederick Merz, wishes PM Modi

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met with German Chancellor Frederick Merz in Berlin on Friday and wished Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Jaishankar said that he was ready to work with the German government to increase and expand the strategic partnership between the two countries. He appreciated the solidarity of Germany as a count of India’s terrorism.

In a post on X, Jaishankar said, “Berlin was honored for meeting Chancellor Frederick Merz today. PM @narendramodi expressed his best wishes. It is ready to work with your government to elevate and expand our strategic partners.

Earlier, Jaishankar held a meeting with Foreign and Security Policy Advisor for Mars, Gunter Sutter. The two leaders exchanged the outlook on major global issues, including combating terrorism.

“Good conversation with foreign and security policy advisor today with Dr. Gunter Sutter. Exchanged the outlook on major global issues including combating terrorism. Our deep partnership is an important factor of stability in an uncertain world. We will also work together to strengthen flexibility and trust,” Jayashankar will also work together.

He also met Germany’s Economy and Energy Minister Kaitharina Recheche in Berlin and discussed ways to enhance talent linkage, industry partnership and joint cooperation between the two countries to create a more flexible supply chain.

Jaishankar said in a post on X, “In Berlin this morning, the economy and energy were pleased to meet the Kaitharina Reich Minister. We discussed our talent linkage, industry partnership and methods to increase joint cooperation.”

On Thursday, Eam Jaishankar interacted with members of the German Parliament. The EAM discussed extensive topics, including India’s firm commitment to combat terrorism in all forms and expressions.

Sharing the details in a post on X, EAM appreciated the support of the members of Parliament for the development of India-Germany relations.

In a post on X, he wrote, “A good conversation with members of the German Bundestag in Berlin. India appreciates his strong support for the continuous growth of-Germany relations. He also discussed with India’s strong commitment to combat terrorism in all forms and expressions.”

Jaishankar chaired the regional conference of ambassadors in Europe, where he discussed the message of Operation Sindoor and zero tolerance for India’s terrorism.

In a post on X, he said, “We presided over the regional conference of our ambassadors in Europe in Berlin today. We discussed our message of #Opsindoor and zero tolerance for terrorism. It was also considered various aspects of Europe’s attachment to Europe at the time of change.”

India launched Operation Sindor on 7 May on 7 April as a decisive military response to the Pahgam terror attack in which 26 people were killed. The Indian armed forces targeted terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, causing more than 100 militants associated with terrorist organizations such as Jai-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen.

After the attack, Pakistan attempted drone attacks with the Line of Control and Jammu and Kashmir as well as border areas, after which India launched a coordinated attack and damaged radar infrastructure, communication centers and air areas in eight airbase in eight airbases in Pakistan.
