Jaipur, October 28 (IANS) Three people from Uttar Pradesh were killed and ten others were injured when a bus came in contact with a high tension power line in Manoharpur area of Shahpura in Jaipur district on Tuesday.
According to initial reports, the bus was carrying workers to a brick kiln in Todi village when it inadvertently touched a high tension wire passing overhead.
Due to the collision, the bus caught fire and several gas cylinders kept inside exploded, further fanning the fire.
Local people reached the spot and helped rescue the passengers trapped inside.
Five seriously injured victims were referred to Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital in Jaipur, while the others are undergoing treatment at Shahpura Sub-District Hospital.
Governor Haribhau Bagde expressed deep sorrow over the accident and expressed condolences to the bereaved families. He prayed for strength to the families to bear this loss and for the speedy recovery of the injured.
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma described the death of people in Manoharpur bus accident as very sad.
He directed the officials to ensure proper medical treatment for all the injured persons and prayed for peace of the departed souls and speedy recovery of those injured in the incident.

LOP Tika Ram Julie also expressed grief over the incident and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
Congress leader Ashok Gehlot also expressed grief over the incident.
The tragedy follows a series of recent bus fire incidents across India this month.
On October 26, a bus tire burst on Lucknow’s Agra Expressway, causing a fire. All 70 passengers managed to escape safely.
On October 24, a fire broke out after a bike collided with an AC bus in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, killing 20 people.
On October 4, an AC sleeper bus caught fire on the Jaisalmer-Jodhpur highway, killing 27 passengers.
On October 2, a bus going from Pichor (Shivpuri) to Indore caught fire in Ashoknagar district of Madhya Pradesh. All the passengers were rescued safely.
