Jagan Slam Chandrababu Naidu’s height increased on silence on Karnataka

Amarvati, October 1 (IANS) YSR Congress Party President and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday. Chandrababu Naidu was accused of completely neglecting the interests of Andhra Pradesh, while Karnataka extended the height of the Almatti dam.

Taking over the X platform, Jagan said that on September 16, the Karnataka cabinet increased the storage of Almit from 519 meters to 524.256 meters, effectively dusk its capacity with a budget of Rs 70,000 crore from 129.72 TMC to Rs 70,000 crore from 279.72 TMC to Rs 70,000 crore.

“Despite this serious threat to Andhra Pradesh’s irrigation and drinking water needs, even after two weeks, Chandrababu Naidu has not shook in action. The entire area has to face the danger of turning barren without water. If you cannot protect the rights of the state, why do you hold the post of Chief Minister?” YS Jagan asked.

The YSRCP leader recalled that during Naidu’s earlier tenure (1995–2004), when he claimed to promote influence at the Center, Karnataka completed Spilway and Get Works, which enabled the expansion of Almatti, despite the Supreme Court reduced the height of height at a distance of 519 meters. “Your failures in the past have already caused heavy damage, and history is repeating itself today,” said YS Jagan.

The former Chief Minister highlighted that for two and a half decades, the increase in height of Almit has had a disastrous effect in the years, Andhra Pradesh has been denied irrigation and drinking water. He said, “Year -dar -saal, our farmers and people have suffered losses due to your inaction.”

He also condemned “Yellow Media Promotion”, which portrays Naidu as running the wheel of power in Delhi, while in fact, he is failing to use the strength of his MPs to put pressure on the Center to prevent the expansion of Alltti.

Turning towards Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal-II (KWDT-2), YS Jagan said that Andhra Pradesh’s arguments are being presented in a weak and ineffective way. He warned that adopting 75 percent of the dependence formula will cause irreparable damage to the state, as Andhra Pradesh will suffer from influx in drought years and at the same time the floods in the form of low ripperian state.

He reminded that the YSRCP government had filed a petition before the KWDT-2 in October 2023, starting a legal battle for the protection of the state’s rights, but under Naidu, the case is being done incorrectly without seriousness.

Jagan demanded that Chandrababu Naidu use his MPs to pressurize the Center, prevent Karnataka’s plan to increase Almati, and present strong arguments in KWDT-2.
