Amravati, October 5 (IANS) former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Sunday, Chief Minister N. On Chandrababu Naidu, Andhra Pradesh was converted to the number one state in filled liquor trade.
The President of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) said that a shocking incident in Mulkarkaruvu in Annamayya district, where the Telugu Desm Party (TDP) leaders set up a fake liquor factory and operated themselves, nurtured the mafia deeply by the leaders of New.
The former Chief Minister has posted on the social media platform ‘X’,
According to him, CM Naidu deliberately destroyed government liquor shops and replaced them with a syndicate-powered private network. He alleged that liquor shops, belt shops and illegal permit rooms are controlled by TDP leaders. Even illegal liquor manufacturing units operate under their protection, ensuring that illegal income is systematically shared at the ground level.
He said, “News reports confirmed that one of the three liquor bottles sold in the state is very attractive. It is a measure of danger.”
YS Jagan cited the data of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report to highlight the financial loss to the state. During the first five months of FY 2024-25, when the sale of liquor was only through government outlets, the excise revenue was Rs 6,782.21 crore. In FY 2025-26, under TDP’s Free-Four-All model with belt shops and permit rooms, revenue was only Rs 6,992.77 crore, only 3.10 percent increase. “Generally, natural development alone will be around 10%. It proves that the correct income of the government is being taken away by the TDP syndicates, while public health is at risk,” YS Jagan accused.
The YSRCP chief further said that fake liquor rackets have emerged in North Andhra, Godavari districts and now in Rayalaseema. Nevertheless, the investigation is deliberately thin. In the meeting, despite a senior TDP in-charge and the clear participation of their colleagues, the police tried to avoid the blame on an outsider, molding real criminals. “This entire racket operates with full knowledge, direction and security from Naidu and his network. People’s health and life are being traded for the illegal fate of a party,” Jagan said.
He demanded accountability from CM Chandrababu Naidu, who directly attributed him to the liquor sector of Andhra Pradesh into a center of fake liquor, belt shop mafia and systematic loot.
“For personal wealth, you are gambling with public health and looting the state treasury, YS Jagan told CM Naidu.
