If you love adventure, Garmin’s premium Fenix range is for you. The eighth generation is fantastic, with a shiny new AMOLED display that shows off 24/7 health features and ridiculously detailed fitness tracking.
Add to this 16 days of battery life, a built-in LED flashlight, and an impressive sport-specific coaching suite available through the Garmin Connect app, and you effectively have a full-hour running PT-cum-Swiss Army knife on your wrist.
is it cheap? No, but this deal from Currys is the best we’ve seen yet, over £200 off the full price.
Garmin Vivoactive 5: Was £199.99, now £149.99 argos.co.uk
The Garmin Vivoactive 5 is an attractive smartwatch that has all the health and fitness tracking features an average person needs to keep up with their exercise plans. It’s also our best budget buy in our roundup best garmin watches,
Our reviewer Zoe Griffin writes, “It can track a wide range of fitness metrics, including steps, heart rate, distance, calories burned, sleep quality, and over 30 preloaded games.” “I was also impressed by its sleep coaching capability, as it gives you a sleep score and personalized suggestions.”
This Argos deal is £20 cheaper than the deal on the Garmin website, making it one of the most cost-efficient ways to get a new Garmin on your wrist. The Forerunner 55 deal below is a little less expensive, but I believe the Vivoactive is better suited for casual exercisers.
Garmin Forerunner 55 42mm: was £179.99, now £123.54, Amazon.co.uk
Smartwatches from big brands have been becoming increasingly expensive in recent years. Garmin introduced the Forerunner 55 as a more affordable entry-level option for wearable runners, and I’m impressed by both the idea and the execution.
Our reviewer Zoe Griffin writes, “Although the screen is large for daily use, it’s excellent for exercise.” “It provides crystal-clear visibility in a variety of lighting conditions, including bright sunlight and low light.
“I was also impressed by the Garmin Coach feature, which offers free 5k, 10k and marathon training plans that you can see on the screen. Instead of paying for a physical coach or PT to accompany you to the park, whistling when it’s time to pick up the pace, the watch guides you through each session, providing pace suggestions, reminders and encouragement.”
At £123.54 on Amazon this Black Friday, this watch is at a refreshingly accessible price compared to most wearables. While the Vivoactive is my choice for casual exercisers, the Forerunner 55 is a great option for those looking to improve their running, swimming, or cycling on a budget.
Released this year, the Garmin Vivoactive 6 tops our list best garmin watchesWhy? Because it is a great all-rounder at a very reasonable price,
I liked the lightweight design, which felt much less cumbersome than the Apple Watch Ultra 2 I’ve worn before, and the more than 80 sport tracking options easily covered my diverse exercise routine.
Although it doesn’t have some of the premium features of the Fenix range, like the brand’s latest sensor technology and a barometric altimeter, I still found it has enough metrics and features to sink my teeth into.
The Vivoactive 6 has free personalized running coaching plans, sleep tracking, and detailed running data to help you fix your snoozing. This deal from Amazon will save you a nice £44 on the tracker.
Garmin specializes in catering to runners, but its Venu range has a greater focus on lifestyle. The design is more streamlined than adventure watches like the Fenix or Instinct, and the health tracking is fantastic.
“I love that it presents health as a holistic concept, providing insight into your overall energy levels based on your sleep quality, naps, stress levels, past workouts, and more,” Zoe Griffin writes in her article. Review“It alerted me to when I was at my peak and ready to push a little harder, while also letting me know when I should take things a little easier,”
It was always going to be a stretch to demand good discounts on the latest generation, the Venu 4, just a few months after its release. But this deal on its perfect predecessor will save you over £100 on an excellent wearable item.
