‘Issue Kunbi Certificate, Agricultural Job status and provide monthly salary to farmers’: Jarange-Petil to Maha Sarkar

Beed, 2 October (IANS) Maratha activist Manoj Jarang-Petil said on Thursday that the government would have to implement the government resolution (GR) issued on September 2 and started issuing clan certificates to the members of the Maratha community at the taluka levels before too late.

“If not, we will take a tough decision – but firmly,” he announced at a rally on the occasion of Dussehra in Narayan Gad.

He expressed satisfaction on the GR for Maratha reservation, saying that it is fulfilling his dream. He urged the society to remain calm and united. However, he strongly criticized the delay, claiming the GR that the GR was “wasted without action” and “some scholars” accused of being “crazy”, which was “crazy” to get out of fear.

He demanded verification of OBC Heritage Certificate for all eligible Marathas, not only one token 10 percent separate quota. He warned the people trying to weaken the Maratha community, “Do not incite us. We will take strong action when needed.”

He further demanded that agriculture be given job status and farmers with land less than 10 acres should be given a monthly salary of Rs 10,000.

“Agriculture should be given job status. People who cultivate less than 10 acres of land should start getting a salary of Rs 10,000 per month. If this salary is given, unemployed children will at least work in the fields. Children will have a habit of doing agricultural work. They will start working in fields due to salary.”

Jerange Patil asked, “Who wants a job in agriculture of Rs 10,000?” Many attendees responded by extending their hands. While doing these various demands for the farmers, they also appealed to the farmers not to sell their fields.

Commenting on the damage caused by disastrous rains and floods in the state, Jenga-Petil demanded that the government should announce a wet drought, provide assistance of Rs 70,000 per hectare to farmers and announce a complete loan exemption for farmers.

He said, “The cultivation of the banks of the river has been washed, the government should assist Rs 1.30 lakh per hectare to such farmers. Many farmers committed suicide in the last 20 years, so the government should provide jobs to the families of such farmers and also provide guaranteed prices for crops,” he said.

“If the demands of the farmers are not accepted by Diwali, the elections of the Zilla Parishad and the Municipal Council will not be held. We will not allow the polling papers to be kept in the villages and also allow the election date to be declared without the declaration of wet drought, without loan discounts, without any loss.

He said that if the voting dates are announced without meeting their demands, then the ministers will not be allowed to hold meetings in Maharashtra.

“I am a short -term guest in this world; I can’t say much. Even in poor health. I am ready to give my life for the community. I have come to fight not for personal gain but for the rights of the Maratha community. My body is not cooperating, but my soul remains strong,” he said.

They emphasized the need to become an administrator and ruler to the Marathas, saying that if they dominate the administration, the leaders will bow them down.
