Israel’s fire at West Bank killed his children. Palestinian families want to know why

Asous says Laila was still breathing when the ambulance arrived, but died on the way to the hospital.

Saddam Rajab lived in a studio apartment in Tulakaram with his father, Iyad.

After Amer died, the soldiers took off their clothes, put their bodies in a blue bag and brought it to a military base. Mohammed later opened the bag and identified his body, pocked with bullets.

The army refused to say whether the investigation into Amer’s death was over. It said that its army had set fire to “three terrorists”, who said that it was throwing stones on a highway and threatening the citizens.

The granular video footage released by the military depicts three people, including a person. There is no video timestamp.

A spokesman for the US State Department said that further investigation was required to determine what happened.

Ayman, 12

29-year-old Anwar al-Hemouni says that his son Ayman’s last words were with his death, “Mama, he shot me.”

In programs caught by two security cameras, Ayman stepped outside his grandfather’s house in Hebron before shooting.

In the footage, three soldiers come into the street on the driveway of the house and see Ayman’s body.

They joined three other soldiers at the end of the road, withdrawing without helping him.

The family gathers around Ayman, and relatives take their bodies under the street behind the soldiers. He died on 21 February.

Al-Hemouni and her husband, who work in protection for the Palestinian Authority, have three other children: Ayem, 3; Tia Lara, 5; And Aer, 10.

Children all wear pendants emerged from Ayman’s face. Her mother keeps making her bed, as if she can return to any point.

The military police is investigating the case of Ayman, the army said, but it cannot give further details.

Rimas, 13

Ahmed, who wanted to become an interior designer, was shot on January 19 by Israeli forces in his hometown Sebstia.

None of his parents were present when he was shot. Neither knows why he was killed.

“I no longer allow my youth to run on the road alone,” said his mother, Vefa. “Whenever they go out, I wait at the door, I am waiting until they are home again.”

The military police is investigating the case of Ahmed, the army said, but it cannot give further details.

Mahmud, 14

A group of men were thrown out of Ghabih House on 14 January, eating sweets.

It was late and cold, the lonely survivor of that night remembers Ashraf Gharbih.

His son, Mahmood stood up and went inside to get a spoon. There was a flash of light. The first missile landed. The next second came later. Then a third.

Six people died. The elder Ghabih was left with a loss of hearing.

The army said the air strike killed several terrorists and it was “aware of the claims” that a union citizen was damaged. It did not say whether it was investigating Mahmud’s death.

In his son, Gharbih says, “I wanted to die with him.”
