Israeli forces shot and killed two Palestinian teenagers and a woman in separate shootings in the occupied West Bank on Sunday, the Palestinian Health Ministry said.
The military confirmed it had “neutralized” three attackers.
Sunday’s incident came after an Israeli attack in the northern part of the Palestinian territory that killed several people, adding to a two-year surge in violence in the West Bank that has intensified since the Gaza war began on October 7.
The Palestinian Health Ministry in Ramallah said the deaths of the two Palestinian teenagers “were caused by bullets from the occupying (Israeli army)”.
They were identified as 19-year-old Muhammad Majid Musa Jabareen and 18-year-old Musa Mahmud Musa Jabareen.
The official Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that the incident occurred at the entrance to the village of Beit Ainu near the city of Hebron.
Wafa cited two Palestinian security sources as saying the men died of their injuries after being shot.
Following the incident, troops entered Beit Ainu and raided several houses, the agency reported.
The Israeli military said two attackers tried to stab and shoot troops near the village.
“One of the terrorists tried to stab an IDF soldier in the area, and the IDF soldiers responded with live rounds and subdued him,” the military said in a statement.
“At the same time, another terrorist opened fire on the soldiers,” the military said, adding that he was also “subdued.”
In a separate incident on Sunday, the Palestinian Health Ministry said Israeli forces shot dead 43-year-old Palestinian woman Labiba Faza Sidqi Ghannam at the Hamra checkpoint.
The Israeli military said “terrorists… tried to stab IDF soldiers who were on guard duty”.
“Soldiers returned fire and she was restrained.”
Israel carries out almost daily attacks in the West Bank, allegedly to thwart terrorist groups.
At least 14 people were killed in an attack on the Noor Shams refugee camp in the northern West Bank this week, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society.
The Israeli military said its troops killed 10 militants in the operation that began on Thursday.
According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, at least 484 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli soldiers and settlers in the area since October 7.
According to the Shin Bet internal security agency, at least 19 Israelis were killed in Palestinian attacks during the same period.
The West Bank, occupied by Israel since 1967, is home to some 490,000 Israeli settlers who live in communities considered illegal under international law.
