Israeli drone crashes into car in Lebanon, killing two Hamas terrorists

By | Published | No Comments

An Israeli drone struck a car near the southern Lebanese coastal city of Tyre, killing a member of the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas and a civilian.

Since the war between Israel and Hamas broke out in Gaza on October 7, Israeli attacks have resulted in the casualties of many senior members of the Lebanese terrorist organization Hezbollah and its ally Hamas in different areas of Lebanon.

Hamas identified the slain member as Hadi Mustafa and said he was affiliated with the group’s military wing, the Qassam Brigades. Lebanese state media said he was from the Rashidi refugee camp near Tyre, where Hamas has significant operations.

The Israeli military released a video of the attack and said Mustafa was directing attacks on “Israeli and Jewish targets” around the world, reiterating that the Israeli military and security agencies would pursue Hamas wherever the group operates. .

Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency said the other deceased was a Syrian citizen who approached the target car on a motorcycle. It also said two people were injured during the strike.

The attack came a day after two Israeli air strikes penetrated Lebanese territory, killing one Hezbollah member and another and injuring 20 others.

The attack was in retaliation for Hezbollah’s firing of 100 Katyusha rockets at multiple Israeli military positions earlier in the day, including two bases in northern Israel. Also on Tuesday, senior Hamas official Khalil Haye met with Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut.

As Hezbollah terrorists and Israeli soldiers exchange fire on the volatile Lebanese-Israeli border, the United States and other governments continue to work to prevent the ongoing war in Gaza from spreading to Lebanon.

On October 7, terrorists led by Hamas attacked southern Israel, killing about 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and taking about 250 hostages. The Gaza War broke out. Since then, there have been near-daily exchanges along the Lebanese-Israeli border as international mediators scramble to prevent an all-out war in tiny Lebanon.

In retaliation for Hamas attacks, Israel launched an offensive into the Gaza Strip that has so far killed more than 31,000 Palestinians, displaced hundreds of thousands and caused widespread destruction.

Hezbollah has vowed not to stop fighting until a ceasefire is reached in Gaza.

Israel’s largest attack on Lebanon occurred in early June, when senior Hamas official Saleh al-Arouri and six others were killed in a Beirut apartment.
