Israel-premier Tech cycling team has got a new name and will race as NSN Cycling Team from next year.
The team said last month that it would rebrand and step away from Israel Identified after being repeatedly targeted by pro-Palestinian protesters during Spanish Vuelta and later a race in Italy. International sports and entertainment company NSN (Never Say Never) said it is taking charge of the team structure with Swiss-based global investment platform Stonewall, which will now move to Spain. The team will be located here barcelona and Verona, which is a popular center for professional cyclists.
NSN was co-founded by the football great andres iniestaWho played almost 700 games for Barcelona and 131 times for Spain, which won the World Cup title in 2010.
“This new era is an important milestone in the development of the team and an opportunity to join forces with organizations united by the shared values of ambition, excellence and inspiring through sport,” NSN said in a statement.
Kjell Carlström will remain as general manager of the cycling team.
“We are proud to welcome NSN and Stoneweg to the team and announce our new name and identity,” Carlstrom said.
During the Spanish Vuelta cycling race earlier this year, pro-Palestinian protesters disrupted several stages, objecting to the participation of the Israel Premier Tech team. The Spanish government estimated that more than 100,000 people were on the streets in Madrid during the final stage.
Premier Tech is a multinational company based in Quebec, Canada. It is the title sponsor of the co-owned cycling team Israel Canadian billionaire Sylvan Adams.
