Tel Aviv:
Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz launched a so-called “diplomatic offensive” against Iran after Iran launched a major attack on Israel.
“This morning I sent letters to 32 countries and spoke with dozens of foreign ministers and leaders around the world,” Katz wrote on X.
In addition to responding militarily to missile and drone launches, I lead the diplomatic offensive against Iran.

country and spoke to dozens of foreign ministers and leaders around the world calling for sanctions…— Israel Katz (@Israel_katz) April 16, 2024
He called for sanctions on Iran over its missile program and for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to be declared a terrorist organization. He believes these measures will help slow and weaken Tehran.
“Iran must be stopped now — before it’s too late,” he wrote.
Israel Katz writes that Tel Aviv’s diplomatic campaign against Iran should be complemented by a military response to Tehran’s attack, using more than 300 missiles, cruise missiles and drones. Israeli and allied defense forces intercepted nearly all incoming fire.
Israel’s military leadership said it did not intend to ignore Saturday night’s major Iranian attack.
Iran said the move was in retaliation for a suspected Israeli attack on an Iranian diplomatic compound in Syria that killed two Iranian generals and five military officers.
