Israel launches another major attack on Gaza refugee camps, killing 33 Palestinians

Arun Jain, 21/10/202421/10/2024

The war between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip continues. Thirty-three Palestinians were killed in recent IDF attacks. Among them, 18 people died in the Jabaliya refugee camp. Meanwhile, a large number of people are said to have been injured. This follows an Israeli attack on Sunday that killed six people. Israeli forces targeted a car and attacked it. At the same time, violent protests broke out in Brussels, the Belgian capital, over the ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon.

The Israeli military continues to target Palestinians in the name of eliminating Hamas militants. On Sunday, the Israeli army launched an airstrike on a car, killing six Palestinians and injuring many others. After this blow, the surrounding atmosphere became chaotic. Later, the injured and dead were rushed to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, and the scene was filled with mourning.

People were seen shedding tears of blood over the loss of their loved ones. However, after some time, the body of the deceased was buried after prayers. On the other hand, the head of Oxfan, an organization that helps the poor, said that this week Israeli troops also killed six workers who worked with them in Jabaliya. On the other hand, the Israeli army’s attacks on Gaza and Lebanon have not stopped, and protests are taking place around the world.

Massive protests against Israel erupted in Brussels, the Belgian capital, on Sunday. Thousands of people participated. They held high Palestinian and Lebanese flags and demanded an immediate ceasefire and an end to Israeli military operations. Since October last year, more than 42,000 Palestinians have been killed, 500 of whom have been killed. Meanwhile, more than 70,000 people have been seriously injured. Hundreds of thousands have also been displaced.

Earlier on Saturday, Israel launched a massive attack on Gaza’s Beit Lahiya district. At least 73 Palestinians were killed in the attack. Most of the victims were women and children. The attack was carried out via a bomb blast late on Saturday night, Reuters reported. After this attack, many people were said to be buried under the rubble. Hamas said the latest attack targeted a crowded area.

According to the Palestinian news agency Wafa, the entire residential complex was destroyed in the Israeli attack. Israel said it was investigating reports of the attack. In Gaza, which was attacked by hundreds of tons of gunpowder, only scenes of devastation can be seen from the ground to the sky. The lives of people who suffered the tragedy of war were lost in the bombing. People were running everywhere to save their lives.

On the other hand, Israel said that Sergeant Ofir Barkovic, 20, and Sergeant Elishai Young, 19, were killed in the ongoing fighting in the Gaza Strip. Both soldiers are affiliated with the 52nd Battalion, 401st Brigade. With the deaths of these two men, 357 Israeli soldiers have been martyred so far in the Gaza Strip alone. Even after this, Israel continues to advance its on-the-ground campaign to eliminate Hamas from Gaza.

Arab states, meanwhile, fear Israel could commit genocide by declaring Gaza a military zone. On the other hand, the wave of protests demanding the release of Israeli citizens held hostage in Gaza has not stopped. Thousands of protesters took to the streets of Tel Aviv again on Saturday, demanding that the Israeli government stop its bombing of Gaza and immediately reach a deal with Hamas to release hostages.
