New York:
According to an Israeli official and two other people familiar with the case, Israel has not denied Iran’s nuclear facilities on Iran’s nuclear facilities in the coming months, which is telling Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that America was no longer ready to support such a step.
Israeli officials vowed to stop Tehran from getting nuclear weapons and Netanyahu stressed that any conversation with Iran would have to lead to complete its nuclear program.
The US and Iranian negotiators have been scheduled for the second round of early nuclear dialogue in Rome on Saturday.
In the past months, Israel has proposed a series of options to the Trump administration to attack Iran’s facilities, including some time the spring and summer deadline, the sources said. Sources said the plans include a mixture of air strikes and commandos operating which vary in severity and can set Tehran’s nuclear program back only to make arms making weapons for months or a year or more, the sources said.
The New York Times said on Wednesday that Trump told Netanyahu at a White House meeting earlier this month that Washington wanted to prioritize diplomatic talks with Tehran and was not ready to support the strike on the country’s nuclear facilities in a short term.
But now Israeli officials believe that their army can start a limited strike on Iran which will require less American support. Such an attack will initially be much smaller than the proposed Israel.
It is not clear whether or when Israel will proceed with such a strike, especially with starting interaction on the nuclear deal. Such a step will isolate Trump will be isolated and can put American support widely at risk for Israel.
Some parts of the schemes were earlier presented to the Biden administration last year, two former senior biden administration officials told the Reuters. Almost all important American support is required through direct military intervention or intelligence sharing. Israel has also requested that Washington helped protect Israel, Iran should retaliate.
In response to a request for comment, the US National Security Council on Thursday mentioned Reuters for Trump’s comment when he told reporters that he had not waved Israel with an attack, but he was not “hurry” to support military action against Tehran.
“I think Iran has a chance to be a great country and live happily without death,” said Trump. “This is my first option. If there is another option, I think it will be very bad for Iran, and I think Iran wants to talk.”
Israeli’s Prime Minister’s Office did not respond to the request of the comment immediately. A senior Israeli official told the Reuters that no decision has been taken on the Iranian strike yet.
The Iranian security officer said that Tehran was aware of the Israeli plan and an attack would provoke “rigid and unwavering response from Iran”.
“We have intelligence from reliable sources that Israel is planning a major attack on Iran’s nuclear sites. It stems dissatisfaction with the ongoing diplomatic efforts about Iran’s nuclear program, and also from the need for Netanyahu’s struggle as a means of political survival.”
Biden administration pushback
Netanyahu received pushbacks from the Biden administration when he presented a pre -version of the plan. Former senior biden officials said Netanyahu wanted the US to take an edge over an airstrike, but the Biden White House told Israel that a strike did not believe that a strike was prudent until Tehran went to expedite the nuclear material or its promotion of inspections outside the country.
Biden officials also questioned to what extent the Israeli army can effectively carry out such an attack.
Former authorities and experts have long stated that Israel will require a significant US military support to destroy Iran’s nuclear features and stockpiles – and some of which are in underground features.
While the more limited military strike is considering Israel, less direct assistance will be required – especially as American bombers – bunker -busting sages who can reach deep burial facilities – Israel will still require a promise from Washington that it will help Israel to defend itself if it was later attacked by Tehran, then the sources said.
There will be risk from any attack. Military and nuclear experts say that with large -scale shelling, a strike will probably only temporarily set a program back, the West says that eventually has to produce an atomic bomb, although Iran denies it.
Israeli officials have told Washington in recent weeks that they do not believe that Iran should interact with, without guaranteeing that the deal should move forward in the stage of dealing that Tehran will not have the ability to make nuclear weapons.
Netanyahu said after his conversation with Trump, “This can be done by the agreement, but only if this agreement is the style of Libya: they go in, blow up installations, destroy all the equipment under American supervision,” Netanyahu said after his conversation with Trump. “The second possibility is that … that they (Iran) pull out the dialogue and then there is a military option.”
From the point of view of Israel, this can be a good moment for strike against Iran’s nuclear features.
Gaza in Gaza and Iran’s colleagues in Gaza and Iran’s colleagues have been inscribed by Israel since the beginning of the Gaza war, while the Houthi Movement in Yemen has been targeted by the US air strike. In October 2024, Israel also severely damaged Iran’s air defense systems in the exchange of fire.
Talking with reporters earlier this month, a top Israeli officer, recognized that if Iran was to start a strike before rebuilding its aerial rescue, there was some urgency. But the senior officer refused to reveal any time for possible Israeli action and said that it would be “meaningless”.
