Jerusalem:
The Israeli army said earlier on Wednesday it was bombing Lebanese Hezbollah positions in Syria to prevent its “consolidation” in the country.
While it battles Hamas militants in Gaza, Israel has repeatedly said it is also ready to confront Hezbollah and has stepped up strikes in recent weeks, including in Syria.
An IDF statement said the army “attacked military infrastructure based on precise intelligence used by the Hezbollah terrorist group on the front lines in Syria.”
The military released a video of the attack on the building.
Not long ago, the Israel Defense Forces attacked a military infrastructure in Syria, and intelligence showed that the infrastructure was used by the terrorist organization Hezbollah.

Israel has been launching a major crackdown on Hamas since its attack on Gaza on October 7 last year, with the international community expressing concern that the conflict could spread.
The military said it “holds the Syrian regime accountable for all activities that occur within its territory and will not allow any attempts that could lead to Hezbollah consolidating its position on the Syrian front lines.”
“Meanwhile, over the past few hours, the IDF has attacked a number of Hezbollah observation posts and terrorist infrastructure in southern Lebanon,” the statement added.
“Throughout the day, IDF artillery strikes neutralized the threat in the Deira and Tel Hafa areas of southern Lebanon.”
On Tuesday, Israel said its warplanes struck a Syrian military position in response to rocket fire from southern Syria on the Israeli-annexed Golan Heights.
The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said Israeli warplanes carried out strikes in Syria late on Tuesday and Monday.
The Observatory said one of the attacks destroyed a weapons and ammunition depot in Syria’s southern Daraa region, while Monday’s attack hit a military base in the south used by groups backed by Iran and Hezbollah to fire rockets into the Golan Heights.
Since the outbreak of the Syrian civil war in 2011, Israeli forces have launched hundreds of attacks inside Syria, particularly against pro-Iranian targets.
According to the Observer Organization, on April 1, Israel launched an attack on the Iranian embassy and consulate building in Damascus, killing 16 people, including 7 members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards. Israel has yet to comment on the attack.
