BBC is “ineffective” in being independent of GovernmentAccording to 38 percent of its viewers.
corporation Our BBC, Our Future questionnaire surveyed 872,701 people starting in March. About 91 percent of respondents said it was important that the BBC be “independent of the current government”.
A total of 43 percent of viewers surveyed said the media outlet was “effective” in doing so.
“The Result The questionnaire is clear – our audiences want an independent BBC, delivering high quality programs and content they can trust; It tells the stories that matter to them and that reflect their lives,” said Tim Davie, BBC Director General.
“We are here to deliver for the audience UK And we will take everything he tells us with us as we shape the future of the BBC.”

More than half (51 percent) of those surveyed said the BBC is currently “effective” in reflecting “different parts of the UK and the lives of the people who live there”, which 76 percent of respondents said was important, while 24 percent said it was “ineffective” in this regard.
As many as 64 percent said it is currently providing a “valuable public service”, 26 percent said it is “ineffective” in doing so, while 59 percent said the corporation provides “something for everyone”, 24% said it is “ineffective” in doing so.
About 57 percent of viewers said the BBC is “an asset to the UK around the world”, 21 percent said it is “ineffective” in doing so, while 73 percent of respondents said the BBC provides “high quality digital services”, with only 10 percent saying it is “ineffective” in providing this.
More sports coverage was requested by more than half of the people who currently watch it on the BBC, while more than 40 per cent of total respondents said they would like to see more drama and documentary series, with 67 per cent saying they would like to keep news coverage at the current level.
About 83 percent said it was “important that the BBC’s core mission of information, education and entertainment continues”.
The BBC says the results of the survey will play “a central part of the BBC’s planning for the future”, and it has asked its respondents follow-up questions.
