The series is part of Pakistan’s 12-match preparations for the T20 World Cup in the United States and West Indies. New Zealand will arrive in Pakistan in April to play five T20Is, the first of which will be played on April 18, before Pakistan departs for Ireland.
The finals will be held on April 27th. Pakistan will then embark on a four-match T20I tour of England starting on May 22.
Pakistan last visited Ireland during the host nation’s first Test match in 2018. That was also the last time the two teams faced off in more than one format.
Pakistan were scheduled to play two T20Is against Ireland in Dublin in July 2020, but they were postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Ireland, meanwhile, will head into the T20Is against Pakistan after losing the ODI and T20I series to Afghanistan in the UAE earlier this month, although they did start the tour with a historic first Test win in Abu Dhabi .
Pakistan and Ireland are preparing for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in June and will meet on June 16 in the first group stage of the tournament.
