iQoo is expected to develop this smartphone powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3

iQoo may be working on a new smartphone to succeed the iQoo Neo 9 Pro model launched by the company earlier this year. According to details leaked by a Chinese tipster, the smartphone maker may feature a powerful processor – Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, which also powers the Vivo sub-brand’s flagship iQoo 12. Apart from the new Neo series phones, other specifications of the smartphone including display, cameras and fast charging features have also been leaked.

The leaker also claims that the phone will feature a 50-megapixel primary camera and an unspecified secondary camera. It is also said to be equipped with a “large” battery that supports 120W fast charging, and is equipped with a short-throw fingerprint scanner and an X-axis vibration motor.

Although the whistleblower did not mention the name of the phone in his original post on Weibo, he claimed in his reply to the user that the phone is either from Realme or iQoo. The phone’s specifications suggest that it could be the successor to the iQoo Neo 9 Pro launched in February.

The company’s recently launched Neo 9 Pro phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip and comes with up to 12GB of RAM. It comes with a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz. The smartphone features a 50-megapixel primary camera with Sony IMX920 sensor, along with an 8-megapixel secondary camera.

It is equipped with a 5,160mAh battery and supports 120W SuperVOOC wired charging. According to the company, the iQoo Neo 9 Pro comes with an optical fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication and has an IP54 dust and splash resistance rating.
