Invictus Games CEO makes shocking changes at 11th hour, says ‘too much’ involvement of Royals

Harry is said to be committed to the Invictus Games

Despite being founded by the Duke of Sussex to provide a platform for wounded, injured and ill servicemen and women to compete in a multi-sport competition, the Invictus Games is gradually reducing Prince Harry’s participation.

Speaking on GBN America, royal author Angela Levin says the event has become “too royal” with the presence of Harry and his wife Meghan Markle and a new appointment could be a sign of their intentions.

“Mike Tindall, who is married to King Charles’ niece, has been named Patron of the Invictus Games,” he said.

“I wonder if this is a way of comforting Harry. He has been very good to Harry.

“But it has become too royal. Too royal. Meghan gives a speech and she actually led a march with some veterans who were physically, emotionally or psychologically damaged during their battles.

“They were very upset. She didn’t know anything about how to march and looked like she was in a dress show.

“They don’t want that or hear that she’s late because she had to give milkshakes to her kids for three days.

“She gave a speech about how to be strong and fight things that I thought were abusive.

“It has taken away the idea, which is to allow these people to live another life. Harry was amazing with these people and showing that life is worth living.

“Now it’s all about Meghan and Harry following.”

A 10th anniversary service will be held at the Games next month but it remains to be seen whether Harry will attend.

The Duke is reportedly considering making his appearance via a video link amid security concerns.

He recently lost a bid to appeal his case against the Home Office over police protection, denying him the automatic right to use royal security services.

His claim for better protection was rejected in February after years of legal wrangling.

Harry is said to remain committed to the Invictus Games and its participants after the event was founded in 2014 in partnership with the Ministry of Defence.
