Intel announces new initiatives targeting AI PC developers and hardware vendors

By | Published | No Comments

Intel launched the AI PC Acceleration Program in October 2023 to connect independent hardware and software vendors with company resources. On Tuesday, the company announced two more initiatives under the overall plan. The first program, called the AI PC Developer Program, is for software developers, and a separate program for independent hardware vendors will be added to the program. The PC chip maker believes the program will allow developers to better understand Intel’s ecosystem and become more proficient in developing tools for the artificial intelligence PC era.

in the newsroom postal“Our AI PC Acceleration Program has made tremendous progress by working with the ecosystem,” said Carla Rodriguez, vice president and general manager of Client Software Ecosystem Support at Intel. “Today, we are expanding with the addition of the AI PC Developer Program We reach beyond large ISVs and engage with small and mid-sized players and aspiring developers. Our goal is to drive a frictionless experience by providing a wide range of tools, including a new AI-ready development toolkit.”

The expansion of the company’s AI PC Acceleration Program will now focus on helping software developers easily adopt new AI technologies at scale. Intel will provide software developers and vendors with tools, workflows, AI deployment frameworks and development kits for using Intel Core Ultra processors.

Intel will help independent hardware vendors prepare, optimize and enable their hardware for the chipmaker’s artificial intelligence computers. Upon compliance with its standards, partners will have access to Intel’s Open Labs, which will provide technical and joint engineering support early in the development phase of their hardware solutions and platforms. These programs are designed to serve as places of learning and partnerships with developers and hardware vendors to create solutions for Intel.

The company claims to have 150 hardware vendors around the world join the AI PC acceleration program. Those interested can register on their website to learn more details and participate. Intel also emphasized that it intends to “bring more than 300 AI acceleration features to market by 2024 on Intel Core Ultra processors across 230 designs from 12 global OEMs.”
