Delhi Minister Atish said on Wednesday that ED officials who raided the residence of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s personal aide Bibhav Kumar were sitting in the living room of his house and did not even pretend to conduct any search.

Officers did not search any rooms or search for any documents. She told a news conference that they were not even willing to explain the cases for which they were there.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) did not immediately respond to Atishi’s claims. Sources said on Tuesday that the raids were carried out because of “irregularities” in the bidding process of the Delhi JAL Board (DJB).

Atishi claimed that the ‘panchnama’ document showed that the ED team had taken away only two Gmail account downloads and three home phones from Kumar’s house. She alleged that the Education Ministry’s raid was nothing more than an attack on Kejriwal to suppress him as he is the only one who has openly challenged the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The ED covered around 10 to 12 premises in the national capital as part of raids under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

Apart from AAP treasurer ND Gupta’s office Bibhav Kumar, agency officials also monitored the residences of former DJB member Shalabh Kumar, Chartered Accountant (CA), Pankaj Mangal and a few others associated with AAP.
