The video posted on official channels on Thursday details the operation step by step – from the events that triggered it, to the target being attacked, which the army describes as its preventive intent. It has been shared widely online since its release.
New Operation Sindoor video released by Indian Army.
The footage is presented as a record. No narration by officials, no live commentary – just visuals, text overlays and timestamps.
what does the video show
The video begins with a timeline of major attacks carried out in India by Pakistan-based groups. It lists 2001 Parliament attack, 2002 Akshardham attack, 2008 Mumbai attack, 2016 Uri, 2019 Pulwama and 2025 Pahalgam attack.
Each entry is labeled as an “attack on humanity”.
Subsequent segments show what the military describes as attacks on nine terror-linked targets on the night of May 7, 2025. Scenes include night footage, guided weapons and synchronized strike timelines.
Pakistan’s name has not been taken directly in the video. But the location and context point to an infrastructure operated with state support.
It also shows Indian forces intercepting drones, responding to shelling along the Line of Control and targeting air defense systems and assets associated with the airbase.
The final frame contains a line: “A warning to our enemies. They must pay the price of their cowardice.”
Trigger: Pahalgam attack
Pahalgam attack and government response
Operation Sindoor was launched after the Pahalgam terror attack, in which 26 civilians were killed. Indian officials said the attackers identified the victims by religion before opening fire. The government called it an attempt to incite communal violence.
