Infinix Note 40 Pro+ 5G, Note 40 Pro debut with up to 100W fast charging

Infinix Note 40 Pro+ 5G and Infinix Note 40 Pro were launched in select markets around the world, powered by the company’s self-developed Cheetah X1 chip. The new Infinix Note 40 series phones feature a 6.78-inch Full HD+ display with up to 120Hz refresh rate and a triple rear camera setup led by a 108-megapixel primary camera. They come with XOS 14 based on Android 14 and are promised two years of Android OS upgrades. The Infinix Note 40 Pro+ 5G runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7020 SoC, while the Note 40 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Helio G99 SoC.

Infinix Note 40 Pro+ 5G starts at $309 (approximately Rs. 25,000). It is available in Obsidian Black and Retro Green color options. In comparison, the Infinix Note 40 Pro starts at $289 (roughly Rs. 24,000). It comes in Horizon Gold, Palm Blue, Starlight Black, and Starfall Green shades.

Infinix Note 40 Pro+ 5G specifications

The dual-SIM (Nano) Infinix Note 40 Pro+ 5G runs XOS 14 based on Android 14. The phone is guaranteed to get two years of Android updates and 36 months of security patches. It features a 6.78-inch Full HD+ (1,080×2,436 pixels) 3D curved AMOLED display with 120Hz dynamic refresh rate and 1,300 nits peak brightness. The display features 2160 PWM dimming and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The new smartphone is powered by the octa-core 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 7020 SoC paired with 12GB LPDDR4x RAM. The available memory is actually expandable up to 24GB by utilizing unused storage space.

In terms of thermal management, Infinix has equipped the new Infinix Note 40 Pro+ 5G with a VC liquid cooling system to dissipate heat during intensive tasks. It includes a 3,753 mm2 vapor chamber cooling area and a 11,428 mm2 graphite cooling area.

For pictures and videos, the Infinix Note 40 Pro+ 5G features a triple-camera setup, led by a 108-megapixel primary sensor with support for optical image stabilization (OIS) and 3x zoom. The camera unit also includes a 2-megapixel depth sensor and a 2-megapixel macro camera. There is a 32-megapixel shooter on the front for selfies and video chats.

Infinix Note 40 Pro+ 5G comes with 256GB UFS2.2 onboard storage that supports expansion via microSD card slot (up to 2TB). Connectivity options on the smartphone include 4G, 5G, GPS, NFC, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. It comes with an IR emitter, ambient light sensor, electronic compass, gyroscope, light sensor, Sar sensor, gravity sensor, and proximity sensor. Additionally, there is an in-display fingerprint sensor for biometrics and an X-axis motor for gaming. It includes dual speakers tuned by JBL and has an IP53-rated dust and water-resistant construction.

Infinix’s Note 40 Pro+ 5G comes with new charging technology powered by Infinix’s in-house Cheetah X1 chip. It is equipped with a 4,600mAh battery unit and supports 100W wired fast charging and 20W wireless MagCharge. The fast charging technology is said to charge the battery from 0% to 50% in 12 minutes. The battery is said to provide up to nine hours of talk time on a single charge.

The Infinix Note 40 Pro has the same SIM, software and display specifications as the Infinix Note 40 Pro+ 5G. The 4G smartphone is powered by MediaTek Helio G99 SoC, paired with 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage. It also comes with a triple rear camera setup, with a 108-megapixel primary sensor (like its 5G sibling) and a 32-megapixel selfie camera. Connectivity options and sensors are similar to the 5G version.
