IndonesiaGede Priyandana has become the first bowler to take five wickets in an over in T20 International, he has achieved this feat cambodia On Tuesday.

The 28-year-old fast bowler single-handedly derailed Cambodia’s target in seven ball overs, which included a wide, completing his hat-trick and ensuring his team’s 60-run win in the series opener.

When Priyandana was called on to bowl the 16th over, Cambodia needed 168 runs to win at 106-5.

The right-handed batsman completed his hat-trick by dismissing Shah Abrar Hussain, Nirmaljit Singh and Chanthoun Rathnak in consecutive balls and then bowled a dot ball.

After this, Priyandana dismissed Mongdara Sok and Pel Venak on the last two valid balls of her over, reducing Cambodia to 107 runs.

Cricket Indonesia Chairman Abhiram Singh Yadav said bbc sport: “Today Indonesia showed two things at once: the ability to execute and win games, and the ability to create world-class moments.

“Five wickets in an over is a symbol of discipline, courage and the training standards we are maintaining.

“This is not the finish line. It is a sign that Indonesian cricket is moving forward.”

Bangladesh’s Al-Amin Hossain and India’s Abhimanyu Mithun had taken five wickets in an over in domestic T20 matches.

There have been 14 instances of bowlers taking four wickets in an over in international matches, including Sri Lankans. Lasith MalingaFours in four balls against New Zealand in a T20 in 2019.
