It is the 108th birth anniversary of Indira Gandhi, the first woman Prime Minister of India. He was born on 19 November 1917 in Allahabad. Gandhiji served for three consecutive terms (1966–77) and a fourth term from 1980 until his assassination in 1984. She was the daughter of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India.

On this occasion, many leaders paid tribute to the former Prime Minister on Wednesday.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi On her birth anniversary, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, along with Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and party leader Sonia Gandhi, paid floral tributes to Indira Gandhi at her memorial ‘Shakti Sthal’ in New Delhi.

In a post on Twitter, Rahul said, “I got the inspiration from my grandmother to take fearless decisions for India and to give priority to the country’s interest in every situation. Her courage, patriotism and morality give me the courage to stand strong against injustice even today.”
