An Indigo flight from Delhi to Srinagar faced bad weather on Tuesday evening, including an hailstorm. The pilot reported an emergency for Srinagar Air Traffic Control, but managed to take off the aircraft safely at around 6:30 pm.
The flight was not damaged with 227 passengers and crew. However, the airline has grounded the aircraft for detailed checks and repairs.
A spokesman at the Srinagar Airport said, “The pilot reported the emergency due to weather disturbance. The aircraft landed safely, and everyone on the board is safe. Ground staff were ready to help.”
Officers are checking the aircraft for any damage caused by hail. Passengers were safely helped by the aircraft. After inspecting the aircraft, Indigo will share more information.
