The central government on Wednesday announced that the population census -2027 will be held in two phases, and it will also include the calculation of castes.
The Ministry of Home Affairs announced in a statue that the census would follow the dates of various references on the basis of the area, which is in accordance with logical and climate factors.
The statement said, “It has been decided to operate the population census -2027 in two phases along with the calculation of castes.”
According to MHA’s statement, “Reference date for Population Census -2027 will be 00:00 hours for most parts of the country on March 1, 2027.”
However, “Ladakh, and Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand for the center area of non-radical snow-bound areas, the reference date will be 00:00 hours on October 1, 2026.”
The government has also indicated that the intention of conducting the census will be published in the official Gazette on 16 June 2025, following the above deadlines, following the above deadlines.
