The official spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, Randhir Jaiswal, on Tuesday appreciated the Indian armed and Air Force, saying that his Pakistan could be forced to stop firing.
Addressing a press conference in the national capital, Jaiswal said that Indian forces launched an attack on Pakistani Air Force bases, due to which the other side was ready to stop military action.
“You will certainly appreciate that in the 10th morning (May), we made a very effective attack on the major Pakistani Air Force bases. That is why they were now ready to stop firing and military action. I should be clear. I should be clear. It was the force of Indian weapons that forced Pakistan to stop their firing,” he said.
Jaiswal again made it clear that the Indian side’s policy on the issue of Jammu and Kashmir is unchanged.
He said that the issue of the center region is a bilateral, and it belongs to the illegal occupation of Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir.
He said, “We have a long national situation that any issue related to the center region of Jammu and Kashmir is to be addressed by India and Pakistan bilaterally, it has been said that the policy has not changed. The outstanding case is a holiday of the Indian region illegally occupied by Pakistan.”
Talking about the ceasefire on May 10, Jaiswal said that the initiative of understanding was taken by the Pakistani side. Pakistan initially faced some technical difficulties in connecting the Indian side over the phone, and then worked at a possible time.
“The words of the specific date, time and understanding were worked to start on their phone call between DGMOs of two countries on 10 May 2025. The request for this call was obtained from the Pakistani High Commission from 1237 pm by Mea. HRS,” he said.
Jaiswal reiterated that India’s message was clear to the world about the attack- the Indian side was responding to Pakistan for its deadly attack on tourists in Pahgam on 22 April.
“Regarding dialogue with other countries, India’s message was clear and consistent. And exactly the message that we were expressing with public platforms was expressed in a private conversation. It was that India was responding by targeting the terrorist attack of 22 April by targeting the terrorist attack.”
Jaiswal reiterated that India was only responding to the attack of Pakistani firing, and it would stop other aspects. At the beginning of Operation Sindoor, this message was conveyed to the Pakistani side.
“However, if the Pakistani armed forces caught fire, the Indian armed forces would set back on fire; India will also stop if Pakistan stops. This was also the message that was made aware of the Pakistani side at the time of the operation of Operation Sindoor, which was not in favor of Pakistani at that time.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier earlier today addressed the armed forces at the Adampur Air Base, appreciating the Indian Armed Forces on the great success of the operation, saying that the slogan of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ is the resolve of every soldier who is ready to sacrifice his life for the country, when it echoes in the war field.
