A travel vlogger in China was detained for 15 hours after he mentioned Arunachal Pradesh as part of India during his trip. In a video on his channel ‘On Road Indian’, the YouTuber shared the incident, detailing how a small statement led to hours of interrogation and detention.

The incident started at the immigration counter, where officials asked routine questions, but things took a turn when they called the senior after the vlogger’s comment. He was taken to a detention area, where he was asked routine questions.

In the video that is now going viral, he can be heard saying, “I arrived at immigration in China. As usual, they were very professional and asked me the usual questions that are asked during the process. Then they put a sticker on my passport, and as he went to stamp it, something popped up on their system. They called their officer and said, ‘Take him away.’ They took me to the detention area, took me to a place and made me sit.”

In the video, the vlogger who left IIT Guwahati further revealed that he also saw some other people present there, including a Korean man and eight to ten Bangladeshi passengers.
He said, “I was nervous and I thought maybe they needed more clarification because immigration has become stricter recently. We talked for about half an hour. Then they opened my bag and checked it. They didn’t take my iPad but took all the other devices.”

The vlogger later realized that the problem had arisen because of his comments about Arunachal Pradesh. The vlogger expressed regret and said that he should not have talked about the disputed territory while he was in China.

Suddenly, last month I got emotional over the detention of an Arunachal citizen in China and I made this video. I am sorry if I have hurt anyone. I am very small in front of these big powers. I am still crying while writing this caption. I have already returned back to India safely. I am not uploading this video under any pressure. I am just expressing my heart to all.” I am saying from.”
